This model of quick release wheel adaptor is a machined steel piece and is very strong. It has a spring loaded release system that clicks on and off effortlessly and holds the steering wheel firmly in place. As well as a working quick release unit, it is also an effective hub spacer to get the wheel slightly closer to the driver.
 
As with all steering components, we treat these systems as a service part and replace them every 12 months with a new unit as we would any other moving part in the steering assembly and would recommend this to all of our customers.
 
This is the exact unit we use in all of our race cars and have done for many years.
